Life is like a row of dominoes. Everybody places them. Some have good motives and some don't. But, when one event kick-starts the domino effect, all sorts of things happen that you cannot blame on anybody in particular, because we are all connected some way or another in a very complex, and sometimes ironic, web.

What you say is good and interesting. The french philosopher Denis Diderot wrote a book about it : Jacques le Fataliste

Very thoughtful posting Quirina ...
ReplyDeleteNo man is an island, entire of itself
every man is a piece of the continent, a part of the main
if a clod be washed away by the sea,
Europe is the less, as well as if a promontory were,
as well as if a manor of thy friends or of thine own were
any man's death diminishes me, because I am involved in mankind
and therefore never send to know for whom the bell tolls
it tolls for thee.
-- John Donne
A very interesting and thoughtful post Q ~ I guess we all live under the same sky and are all in it together. I think we too easily forget that how we choose to live our lives, has a profound affect on others. I always thought life was like a game of chess, but I've since had a rethink, in that people are not that calculating on the whole, just maybe ignorant.Great post. x
ReplyDeleteI like it. There is a poem I read just this morning by Carson McCullers; one of the toughest American poetesses, called "Saraband" which seems to have some overlap with yours here. I, myself, believe in a God of loving irony.
ReplyDeleteAnother beautiful poem, so very true, we are all connected by the fabric of the universe, you stretch, and in some way, we all feel. :)
ReplyDeleteFor good or bad we are all affected by each others actions.
